Edwards
About halfway between Redlands and Big
Bear, on Highway 38, deep in the heart of the San Bernardino National
Forest, lies an area known as Barton Flats. This area bustles in the summer
with camps and vacationers, but as August draws to a close and everyone
heads back to school, a peaceful quiet settles over the majestic Ponderosa
Pines and high mountain streams. With this peace comes an opportunity, a
chance to look past the paved roads and to explore, to see nature as it
should be seen; uncrowded, untouched, and beautiful. Camp Edwards is owned
and run by the East Valley YMCA of Redlands, and we are fortunate enough to
lease this facility.

Where Are You Coming From?
DIRECTIONS TO EDWARDS 42842 Jenks Lake Road East, Angelus
Oaks, CA 92305
Head east on Interstate 10, getting off
at the Orange Street Exit in Redlands. After you exit the
interstate, go straight through the stop sign until you actually hit
Orange Street. Make a left, and then turn right on Lugonia Avenue,
following this as it turns into Highway 38. Stay on Highway 38 for
25 miles, through the little town of Angelus Oaks and then into
Barton Flats. Pass Jenks Lake Road West (DO NOT TURN HERE!) and keep
going for several miles, passing several National Forest
Campgrounds, finally turning right onto paved Jenks Lake Road East.
Follow this for 1.5 miles of a mile and keep your eye out at the
crest of a hill for a big sign saying Camp Edwards. Turn right onto
the paved camp road and you are here!
